Application Guidelines And Requirements

The Foundation will be granting two (2) $1500 scholarships to School District #155 seniors who have encountered struggles that could hinder their applying for and attending college. Recipients will have the ability to earn an additional $1500 over the course of their 4 year undergraduate studies based on maintaining a minimum 3.0 average.  Recipients will receive the additional monies in $500 increments in July of each subsequent year after receipt of transcripts from their college or technical school.

  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must have applied to a 2 or 4 year college or technical school.
  • Applicant must have the endorsement of their Guidance Counselor attesting they are a qualified candidate.
  • Applicant must explain what obstacles they have overcome in high school and how they have done this in a 250-500 word essay.

Applications will be available for submission on December 1, 2023 and due by Friday, March 29, 2024. Late applications will not be considered. The applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors. Selected recipients will be notified by mid-April.

Scholarship funds will be paid in May at their school’s awards night.
